Eastern Samar and EVMC Maternal Mortality Data Y2022
Take Note!
Maternal Mortality refers to female deaths from any cause related to or aggravated by pregnancy or its management (excluding accidental or incidental causes) during pregnancy and childbirth or within 42 days of termination of pregnancy, irrespective of the duration and site of the pregnancy.
The following data on maternal mortality are unofficial counts and would still have to be reviewed by the Maternal Death Review Teams that are responsible for the reporting facilities. These data are not reflected on the maternal mortality registry.
One of the objectives of SRH Watch is to gather and consolidate near-real-timeinformation on maternal mortality in participating local government units. These data are available online 24/7 on this webpage and visible to program managers to serve as an early warning on the maternal mortality situation. With the available near-real-time information on maternal mortality, the program managers can perform better “decision analysis” to determine which strategic decisions should be made to immediately address the situation.
SRH Watch is set to be inaccessible to online search engines. The URL link is provided only to the participating health facilities. Listed on Table 2 below are the 29 participating health facilities in Eastern Samar and the Eastern Visayas Medical Center in Tacloban City that are reporting on Maternal Mortality.
SRH Watch is compliant to Republic Act No. 10173, otherwise known as the Data Privacy Act. SRH Watch does not collect the person’s name, address or any contact information. There are no personal information or any sensitive information which can be linked to the reported mortalities to make them readily identifiable. Only aggregate numbers and underlying causes of deaths are processed by SRH Watch and reflected by participating health facilities and by provinces. The Maternal Death Review Teams would have to get the detailed information from the reporting facilities for their review.
